Dang it, another late night rush job. You know, I’m actually glad I got killed so early in the Drunk Duck Mafia game, that thing really eats into your life, man…

Anyway, hey look! It’s a cameo of a different kind! Sadly, Ram Quatzi won’t be figuring into the main plot this time, but this seemed like a nice opportunity to at least give him a second or two of face time again.

As for other cameos… well, I’m afraid the offering are a little paltry this time, and it’s my own fault. This page just didn’t provide many chances to work people in. You can’t have random people wandering through a guarded room, and the last panel ended up being such an odd angle that I couldn’t find any characters tall enough to be seen over the speech bubble. That said, we DO get to see…

Peaking in the door in the first panel is Larry from Disgruntledrm’s Dying To Live

And trying to get IN that door in the second (perspectively challenged) panel is David Toboz from Mad Scientist Wars

And in what’s probably the STRANGEST in-joke I’ve ever thrown in, the Con Ops guards are both Terry Gilliam as Ginger from the Monty Python sketch “Biggles Dictates a Letter” (though I got some of the details wrong since I had to work from memory)

(Historical Notes: For a brief window of time, I was a LOT better at slipping older recurring characters into the comic than I am now.  These days, it seems like I have to put the brakes on literally everything and devote a whole page JUST to the cameo rather than just making it a natural part of the punchline like it is here.  Also, you could probably make a drinking game out of the number of times Madam Ventricle’s hair drastically changes design over the course of this arc.  Keep an eye out for it, it’s a PERFECT example of the kinds of details I don’t plan ahead on.)
