page 1464 – Burger Time
YES! I did it! I got Friday’s page finished and queued up in advance! Yup, I’m writing this on Monday night, before page 1463 even goes live. I’d LIKE to think this means that, in time between this page getting queued and it finally going live, I’ll have used the extra free time this opens up to get a bunch of other things done, and NOT just taken the excuse to sleep in even more than I already do. I dunno. Hey, Future Me: when this page goes live, make a report on your actions down in the comments or something. Hold yourself accountable.
Anyway, one of the things I SHOULD be getting done during that stretch of time is the new TWC Voting Incentive, which will hopefully be live by the time you see this.
EDIT: Guess what? Not only is the new Voting Incentive up right on schedule, but there’s ALSO some actual new Far Out There-adjacent material up on my Patreon! What a shock!

Incidentally, I think this might be the first time past you yelled at future you instead of the other way around.
Oh yeah! I said my piece by editing the main commentary instead of writing it down here! I mostly just spend my “free time” working on entirely different things, like writing up blog stuff for Patreon. Hey, as long as it’s doing SOMETHING different, that’s still enough to recharge the batteries.

Well, he already knew about the food ship and all that, so him being mad about the mess isn’t going to affect anything happening in this page.

The danger is that Ichabod’s distraction play will only last for 8ish minutes, the amount of time that they need to get the ship ready to launch. The irritation of the Cap’n could easily cut that time in half, making the Cap’n yelling at people SUBSTANTIALLY increase the chance of Stillez coming and eating the ship.
I guess I need to buy stock in Alka-Seltzer™ – as far as I can recall they are the only Ancient Earthian company/brand that we’ve seen evidence of to have survived to exist millions of years in the future!
It’s not necessarily the same company. The Alka in this case may mean Alkaline, or it could be a new company that was made with the same name because the old company’s name sounded cool.
Actually, Ichabod should make a failing company called “East India Company”. That was named after a historical company that was named after a historical company that was named after a historical company all of which were named that because the last version they heard about became famous, and thus MUST have been profitable. East India Company was chosen because of it’s fame and the fact that it most certainly doesn’t exist, or, if there is a company still operational that was founded by it, doesn’t operate under the same name.
Enron could be another, or just find any famous company that is known to currently be shut down. So the current Big Media Companies are a no-go.

Apparently they do at least remember Enron in the distant future, though perhaps not in a way that they would want to reuse the name.
To be honest, I actually kinda forgot that it was a specific brand and not just the name for antacid (sort of a Xerox or Band-Aid king of thing)
