page 1443 – How Floppy Is Your Spaceship
A rare bit of self-editing with this one. Originally, the intention here was to have the first panel be of Tabitha talking to Avatar some more about her ship, with the panel seen here being an ironic contrast to it. But then it hit me that, quite frankly, it wasn’t all that funny. Or, at the very least, the structure was too repetitive when compared to what we just saw last week. So I just threw out the first half entirely. The fact that this meant the page took less than half as long to draw and edit is ENTIRELY coincidental.
But hey, that little bit of extra time went to good use! Believe it or not, there’s actually ANOTHER piece of Far Out There content over on my Patreon! And it’s not just some self-indulgent blog this time! It’s a self-indulgent STORY instead! Yep, I finally got around to finishing another one of those short stories, and while this one’s a lot more tangentially related to the comic, it IS still set in the Far Out There universe!

Wait… are they taking the food-ship to the same place Tabitha took Stillez? I feel like they’re taking the food-ship to the same place Tabitha took Stillez.
Tabitha, why did you think that was a good idea? Taking Stillez to the place the boys would absolutely have to go was a terrible idea. You should have found a different thing to have her do.
Oh, just you wait 😀
Somewhere, Avatar and Ichobod suddenly had the strange feeling that they ere needed to add unnecessary context to dialogue….
Avatar knows a list of 127 Historic Omletes that would be considered grosser than this one.
And Ichabod has a story of a gross omlet-making contest that he had to participate in once in order to prevent the usurpation of a planetary sub-monarchy by the rolypoly fishhead insurgency, or some such thing.
Correction: Avatar knows a list of 128 Historically Important Omletes that would be academically agreed upon to be considered grosser than their ship.
Another Correction: Ichabod has a story about an Omlet-Making Contest that was attempted to be sabotaged by people trying to usurp a planetary sub-monarchy, resulting in all many of the omlet’s becoming gross in various ways, with one coming to life and wanting to eat the rest, only to be satisfied with eating an actually good omlet. That is ONE of the 128 Historically Important Gross Omlet’s that Avatar knows of.
I made the critical blunder of imagining a the texture of this ship, and I wish I had not. (Somewhere between wet latex and three month old pumpkin was where my mind went, for the record)
