page 1441 – Still Good Advice, Though
Before anything else: be sure to hop back and see the bonus comic that went up on Sunday!
Anyway, some rambling about details. I had a hankering for Layla to represent her favorite band Skyscraper Girls again, though I did some important changes to the logo design this time around. Specifically, though you can’t see it in this page, the actual text of the band’s name is on the BACK of the shirt this time. It should be a lot less annoying to just stretch that skyline doodle around than to also have to worry about the writing being legible. That, and it’s a lot less awkward to NOT have Layla walking around with the word “GIRLS” stretched out across her chest.
And speaking of text that’s not legible, the little sign by that door was SUPPOSED to say “Service Entrance: Use only for access when not dramatically important” …but the layout didn’t cooperate. Ironically, I specifically didn’t work too hard on the glimpse of Tabitha’s partially-disasembled ship because I assumed the whole view through the door would be too hard to see clearly as well, but then THAT ended up almost completely un-obscured. Dang it.

LAYLA! That was five years ago! (When you saw him doing it.) Let Trigger live it down already! If you’re going to act like his sibling and never let him live that type of thing down, you need to do it in the style of siblings and call him out on it directly, instead of hinting at his obliquely and allowing other’s to get hit by strays!
…Also, Trigger just holds things in his mouth sometimes when he’s working. It’s a convenient place to hold things like wires, because they’re very easy to grab from there.
You know, now that you mention it, that DOES sound like a pretty Trigger thing to do…
Now that I think about it, I think we’ve seen that he stores stuff in his hair. If we haven’t, I can see him putting screwdrivers and other often-used tools in there while he’s working. His hair is definitely thick enough to hold onto them, after all.
I’m drawing a blank on him doing that deliberately, though stuff getting stuck in there by accident has definitely been a visual gag before.
(Also, I know for a fact that he’s stuck his hair into other things on occasion)
Yeah, that’s reasonable. I just thought it might have been part of his Espionage Training, though it could have also been something explicitly stated to avoid. Baseline Human Hair isn’t really able to hide things from Metal Detectors, after all.
Oh come on Layla, who among us hasn’t needed to test the texture of something with their tongue?
Wait. No one else? Oh. Hm.
I hear icy flagpoles on cold days are especially delicious! So they say.
Movies would make you believe they’re so tasty you don’t want to stop! I wouldn’t know, it doesn’t snow where I live.
