page 733 – NO RELATION TO THE POP BAND
…and it ends as we all knew it must.
I wish I’d had more time to work on this one, ‘cos I really wanted to have more of the surroundings visible in these pages. Like, seeing a whole stretch of the trashed displays getting flattened by the ship, reminding everyone where our main characters are in relation to the ship, and so forth. But, alas, getting stuff together for Animazement is REALLY kicking my but right now. Heck, don’t be too surprised if Friday’s page has to go up in a VERY rough state. I’m gonna be crapping that one out in a major hurry.
But you know what’d make everything better? More nerdy theorizing about the nature of Stilez’s strength, or other mad sciency stuff. It makes me ridiculously please when I check the comments and stuff like that’s going on 🙂
(Historical Notes: See? Past Me agrees with me! I’ve argued with him so much lately, it’s nice to see us on the same page about something. Anyway, the only complaint I currently have about this page is that the hovership appears to have shrunk over time. As originally seen back in page 686, it looked at least twice as big as it is here, compared to Stilez’s size. I mean, yeah, Stilez is way taller than everybody else, but she’s not supposed to be THIS much bigger. Obviously, I couldn’t draw her like a little stick figure or we wouldn’t be able to see what’s going on, but I still wish I’d found a less continuity-error-y way to do that.)
Time for another bout of “Giving excuses for the past”, with Darius Drake! If we merely compare this page with page 686, the answer is simple. The ship was high in the “sky” on page 686, while it’s been low to the ground to help people aim during the fight with Stilez. No continuity error here, no sirree bob.
I was thinking more about how the stick figures in that page are clearly smaller than Stilez is drawn here… but in the spirit of your comment, nobody ever said all those characters running around were conventional human adult sized. Maybe the ship was overrun with Ewoks and Jawas in that panel?
Or those guys from Cuddlyfuzzysnugglewumpus (or whatever it was called). The ones that got court martialed out of their navy for insubordination or treason or not being sufficiently cute and now they’re working for gun-runners.
