Page 255 – Thankful Threats
First off, hello to anybody who’s just stumbled onto this comic after hearing about it at Animazement! I’m writing this note several days in advance, so I have no idea who you might be, but I will venture to guess that at least two of you are alien bounty hunters, and another one of you is Andy Sandberg. That seems like a safe bet to me.
Moving on, I really like the interesting twists that Tabitha’s personality has been taking lately. When we met her, she was most defiantly against all things mad science-ish, all goody two-shoes and such. The more out of control this situation gets, though, the more hints we’re seeing that at least a LITTLE bit of her Dad’s sociopathic ways might have rubbed off on her. It is WAY fun to play around with.
(Historical Notes: Again, I must stress that I DON’T consider this sort of activity as being out of character for Tabitha, we just haven’t seen her in a situation that would warrant it in a long time.)

I’ve thought of a few different ways that might work to hurt someone who’s otherwise invulnerable:
1. Specific weakness (analogous to kryptonite for Superman)
2. Someone with reality-altering powers (such as a deity) could revoke the invulnerability.
3. Dimension-oscillating bullets (mentioned briefly in an episode of Tenchi Universe as one of Washu’s inventions)
4. Portal cut.
5. catfish them with someone they think is also immortal so they let down the expectation that every attachment they make has an inevitable end and then have them face the rest of eternity with the pain of that one attachment they thought was going to be eternal being as temporary as everything else
6.gaslight them about things they cared about, people or places, give them evidence that they were not how the immortal remembers them.
7.create a religious order of assassins who every decade(or century just needs regularity) will kill one person the immortal cares about.
8.create a press company that has two purposes, build itself up in reputation and reach. occasionally post scathing articles to make the immortals life worse
9. Boredom. Stick them in a trap that hey can absolutely survive, but it will take then centuries to get out.
10. create genetic clones trained by acting coaches to reenact events from the immortals life from centuries ago. destroy their connection to time. recreated architecture, rerelease old media but air it as if its new, introduce old friends who claim it just been year not centuries since they last met. “are you ok? it hasn’t been that long”
11. In the case of Avatar, work out how the stuff that makes up her skin is normally manipulated & shaped into the desired outcome, and use that knowledge as a basis to formulate a weapon that can actually harm them.
12. If the goal is to “hurt” instead of “significantly harm”, then anything that is actively painful without being directly harmful is effective. Strapping them into a notably uncomfortable chair in an especially uncomfortable position for hours to weeks is a good example.
13. Tickle Torture, keep her laughing for DAYS. The only reason why she could live that long is because she doesn’t need to breathe.
