Page 210 – Oh, is that all?
Dang it, I’m dragging things out again. Sorry, but this is another instance where our choices are either several pages that gradually discuss the same thing, or one of those massive walls of text that nobody actually likes to read. At least this way, we actually get PICTURES to look at.
Speaking of which, I got a stupidly late start on this page that resulted in a weird time-saving maneuver. For the later two-thirds of this page, I actually went ahead and inked the rough draft instead of drawing the whole thing over again. I DID have redraw the first panel, though, meaning that this page was cobbled together out of two separate pages worth of art. Somehow, I don’t think that really made things all THAT much simpler.
(Historical Notes: There’s too many colors going on in this page, but nevertheless I like how Skye’s red hat pops against all the blue and purple. Now if only that nice visual quirk actually had some kind of story significance…)
@Historical Notes: Have we ever seen Skye without her red hat? Because, if not, you could turn it into a conspiracy situation where she never takes it off (potentially for good reason).
I think we have – I don’t remember the strip, but I remember Blitz remarking that it was weird to draw her without her hat, or something to that extent.
Here it is. Once could argue that since it’s a Christmas strip it’s not necessarily canonical, though.

Well now I have to draw Skye with her hat off in some other context just to make it weird 😀
No, now you need to have someone knock off Skye’s hat, and have her complain about it being off feeling weird. Shame it has happened, though, now you can’t use it as an excuse to pretend that she’s hiding something, like some hair that won’t sit down, or a mind-controlling parasite that is the true Skye and puppets the body of the pretty blond girl we think of as Skye.
Yes, that is too dark to actually become a part of this story, but it could have been something hinted at in it.
