I wish I could say that the bulk of the crowd was left unshaded to create an illusion of depth, but I’m nowhere near that clever. The truth is, I was busy hosting an anime party at my house Sunday night, which resulted in me getting a very late start of this page. At 3 in the morning, any artistic decision that removes a step from the creative process is a GOOD decision.

Anyway, cameos are back in full force now. Let’s see who we’ve got this time!

Wearing the blue mask in the first panel is Devil Squid from Vakanai’s Devil Squid Adventures.

…and to the right of Tabitha in the last panel is Coelacanthasaur, an original character by Gwen.

I also threw in a PAIR of characters for myself this time.

Hovering between Dr. Caligari and Layla in the bottom panel V.I.N.CENT from The Black Hole: one of the most awesomest robots in the history of science fiction.

Also, on the far right of the last panel is Fran from the manga Franken Fran. It’s actually a pretty terrible manga and I don’t recommend it to anyone, but the character (a creation of a mad scientist who is herself something of a mad doctor) just seemed like a good fit for this kind of event 😀

(Historical Notes: Dang it, Past Me.  I’m gonna stop trying to help you if you keep making things harder than they need to be.  When I was porting all these pages from Drunk Duck over to SmackJeeves, somehow the commentary got out of sync with the pages, meaning all this was actually posted on the LAST page, underneath the real commentary.  The saddest thing is… I can totally see myself doing that again if I zone out too much during THIS move.  Speaking of doing weird things, I think this is the only page where I left out Bridget & Alphonse’s green skin, just to see if it was one of those details we didn’t need to color in every page.  Turns out it is.)
