page 1422 – Genre Savviness Will Not Save You
Good news, kiddies! It’s time for another exciting adventure in the land of LAST MINUTE EXTRA COMICS! Yup, I mentioned last time that the dialog between the nitpickers was thrown in to THAT comic pretty much on a whim, and that went and grew into a whole extra page all its own. I was supposed to be drawing something COMPLETELY different for today, but this little exchange just wouldn’t leave me alone until I went ahead and did it first (especially when the comment section went and started talking about this same stuff as well). Fun creative spontaneity and all that, BUT it did come with a price. Since I dove into this comic with no rough draft, the process took a lot longer than you’d think for such a simple page. Seriously, that background doodle of Tabitha and Layla moved around a LOT during the editing process because the dialog wound up covering so much more of the page than I expected.
And as a direct effect of all that extra fiddling, I’m sorry to report that there’s no new TWC Voting Incentive today. I can’t even do the whole “check back later” routine this time, because I’m gonna be busy this evening and I need to get some actual sleep at SOME point before that. It’s just not gonna happen. I dunno, maybe next week will get an incentive for Tuesday instead of Friday to try and close the gap. I’m juggling so many various things at the moment, it’s honestly hard to say when or if I can even squeeze any extra something in. I guess we;ll just have to wait and see, and it’ll be as much a surprise to me as anybody else!

I suspect her automatic assumption of nastiness is at least in part because all her time having to babysit the Horrible Four has distorted her assumptions about what kids are like.
There’s potential for a LOT of flashbacks to Mariska looking after the kids and DESPERATELY trying to tell herself that they’re sweet, innocent children.
@ Vending Machines: There were only 2 that you could have added reasonable details, like names, to. All the other’s are covered.
Exactly. Before the speech bubbles started getting added, there were, like, seven machines visible. That would have been SO much effort on stuff that would be completely covered up.
