page 1390 – Oh, That Did Happen, Didn’t it?
I very often need to remind myself of just how bad Webcomic Time truly is. I mean, for those of us existing in Real Time, the incident occurred eight whole years ago, but in-comic, it was only a few days ago. That’s mind-boggling on SEVERAL levels.
Anyway, now that we’re past Halloween, I shouldn’t have any trouble getting a fresh TWC voting Incentive ready for this Friday… although it also means I’ve really got to quit dilly-dallying about getting this year’s Christmas comics finished. I actually did manage to get a FEW done last moth, but then lots of more pressing deadlines snuck up on me and I haven’t finished any more in a while. Time for the seasonal over-work to TRULY begin!
(Also, hello anybody stumbling onto this page as is goes up early Monday night! No real reason why I’m going ahead and letting this go live right away instead of queuing it up for Tuesday morning, I just felt like some instant gratification.)
EDIT: Finally! A fresh TWC Voting Incentive is up again! Sorry for the wait!

Sure, but Tabitha is literally asking Trigger if he wants to play games he enjoys and is good at, but doesn’t get to play all that often. The Incident is an issue for several reasons (primarily how lightly Tabitha treated it), but “playtime” is more important to children oftentimes.
That’s a good way of putting it. Trigger would probably need repeated reminders that there’s actually a goal they’re trying to accomplish here, because he’s having too much fun tinkering with stuff.
Let’s not bring up to Layla what happened last time he spent a bunch of time with an older girl who shared interest in sabotaging stuff with him. (even though he only gets to see her at Christmas any more)
Oh, just you wait. The time will eventually come when we hear more about Layla’s thoughts on THAT subject…
Skye didn’t lead Trigger on or do anything sexual. He developed a one-sided crush on her because she’s a cute girl whose job is doing what he considers to be fun games. Technically, he developed the crush first and it deepened due to him discovering what her job is. She likely didn’t even consider any of that to be flirting, even though the Sprocket Fight was purely for fun. Basically, Skye’s innocent of wrongdoing, while Tabitha isn’t.
I’m not saying that Layla has to be HAPPY about Trigger’s crush, just that directing that irritation at Skye is unreasonable. The most Skye is guilty of is not noticing said crush.
Oh, I can ABSOLUTELY confirm that Skye didn’t consider anything she was doing as “flirting.” She had no clue Trigger was into her until the very end of that first arc.
But at the risk of giving too much future content away, that’s actually part of Layla’s… complicated opinions towards Skye. She’s more observant than either Skye OR Trigger regarding what’s actually going on there.
