page 1213 – Nothing. Nothing Could Go Wrong.
I’m both sad and kind of relieved that I didn’t see Ed8’s comment on the last page, because I would have had quite a time biting my lip to avoid giving anything away, but that also would have been its own kind of fun. But yeah, have fun speculating about how THIS supposed to turn out!
In the meantime, if you’ll permit some artist grumbling, the way the layout on this page turned out kinda bugs me. Namely, having the first row of speech bubbles so distant from the characters speaking the lines feels wrong… but I also didn’t want to try and scale down Avi’s big ol’ head, because his outburst really needs to dominate the page. The worst thing is, this feels like exactly the sort of thing I could have worked out if I gave this page a few more drafts, but I went and blew most of the past week trying to get some extra Patreon stuff done before the end of the month, and wound up behind schedule on this. Or maybe I’m just cranky because I still think my original rough doodle captured Avi’s emotions a bit better than the more polished version.

ANOTHER EDIT: Hopefully I’m jumping the gun in saying this, but there’s a pretty darn good chance that page 1214 is gonna be fairly late. Sorry, but I keep trying to get the last of those Conventional Wisdom comics wrapped up and it’s throwing off everything else. Also, the human body’s need for sleep. That hasn’t helped much either.
Someone really needs to find that kid a hobby that’s less likely to get him and his friends killed. Rabid hamster juggling perhaps?

Wow. Everyone’s agreeing that Avi’s idea is bad. That just SHOWS how bad an idea it is.
Also, the doodle looks a little more manic to me, which is probably why you didn’t catch it in the polished version.
I think a big part of it is that the pose turned out a lot stiffer. The doodle makes him look more hunched forward, and his shoulders are up a lot higher, which generally conveys a stronger sense of eagerness. It’s like he’s about to pounce.
Re: the voting incentive, someone needs to make those dice and sneak them into someone’s game when they’re not looking.

I can see those D6 & D12 being used in a DnD game as “Optional Alternate” Dice for a curse effect or something.
perhaps, but they would be best suited for a new game specifically designed to take advantage of their unique attributes. You don’t get a manual with it, just a copy of the Voynich Manuscript.
