page 1183 – just gonna continue to ignore that
Well now, THIS is a bit of an odd time for an update. I was PLANNING for everything to go up Wednesday morning, like I said back on Sunday… but I’d also anticipated this page taking quite a few more hours to finish than it did. At first I was gonna sit on things for a while, or set the update not to go live for another eight or nine hours… but ya know what? Screw it. The page is done, so I’m gonna put it out for everybody to see. Hurrah! Does this mean page 1184 will be up on Monday? …I dunno. I’m obviously gonna try, but I’ve got some distractions happening this weekend, so that MIGHT slow things down. I guess keep an eye on the social medias for news if anything comes up.
And SPEAKING of distractions, just in case you missed me mentioning it on Sunday, I finally got started re-posting old content to the Voting Incentive & Patreon Gallery… and I was such a shambles that I actually started at the wrong place. There’s a full, complete collection of TWC Voting incentives from 2011, but not any of the ones from 2010 when these things actually started. WHOOPS! Depending on whether or not I make good time on page 1184, I MIGHT have the 2010 Incentives re-posted in time for the next update, but they’re a much lower priority than the next comic.
And speaking THAT, I should really say something about the new comic, shouldn’t I? Before anybody asks: yes, I’m absolutely rehashing that shorts/jacket combo Layla was wearing a while back. It was a huge mistake having her change out of that get up in the first place. Admittedly, I AM breaking a bit of a rule I’d set for myself early on regarding Layla’s wardrobe. At one point, I’d said that Layla would mostly wear some shade of blue, so that it’d make her red hair pop that much more. However, as I’ve complained on several occasions, I’ve gotten really sick of how much blue has been in the comic ever since the Justice Heroes Whatever Club showed up, so I kinda had to stick Layla in something red just to preserve my own sanity. I mean, it’s not like it won’t be shown as some shade of grey most of the time either way. Oh, and speaking of Layla’s new wardrobe, I went through all of the trouble of drawing new assets to use on both the front of her shirt and the back of her jacket… only for the final draft of the comic to mostly cover up the shirt and not show the jacket at all. Well, the important thing is that I’ve got them on hand to use NEXT time, I guess.
Oh, and one more thing. Layla is DEFINITELY remembering things the way she want to remember them if she thinks Trigger was less trouble than the new kids. (Yay! I can actually post links to some old incentives now!)
The “Dang It!” brand is the foremost seller of beans in more than half the galaxy, and in the top 10 for the rest of it. Admittedly, some of those areas only sell beans once every twelve months, but the “Dang It!” Brand is known for just straight up selling the cheapest version of the product that’s potentially available with no frills, no fuss, no additives, just the product, so you always know what you’re getting with them.
Also, Layla’s spent less time with these kids than she did with Trigger, and has had notable issues with them. Sure, Trigger pulled pranks, but that only started at least a year after they met (if not a few years), wasn’t a every-meeting situation (otherwise Layla and Ichabod would have been pranked when they visited Trigger), and Layla never actually cared about what she was wearing when she visited Trigger.
So, Trigger’s worst was worse than these kids are giving to Layla (not worse than they can do, but worse than what Layla has personally experienced), but his average could easily be below what the group’s given her as a whole. Also, there’s 4 of them getting tripped over each other, with their problems making each worse. Trigger’s actions were always TRIGGER’S ALONE, and thus she could get angry at him.
Gosh, when you put it that way, I can suddenly see “Beans, Dang It!” being sold in real stores!
Right next to “Corn, Dang It!”, “Tomatos, Dang It!”, and close to the “Tuna, Dang It!”. In the cold produce section you can find “Milk, Dang It!”, “Butter, Dang It!” and “Margarine, Dang It!” (for you in the US, Margarine is that butter substitute, like ‘I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter’). There’s also “Bacon, Dang It!”, “Peanut’s, Dang It!”, “Pea’s, Dang It!”, “Beef, Dang It!” and “Lamb, Dang It!”
Honestly not actually a brand name that would be used in the real world anytime soon, simply because of how many people would get up in arms about how close the word “Dang” is to swearing, and the internet all too often encouraging all the loudest stupid people to complain about the stupidest things they can find, but still.
A big problem with the internet is that the vocal minorities of “stupid” are far louder than ever before.
Or, said in a more general way…
A good thing about the internet is that it can bring people from all over the world closer together than ever before. A bad thing about the internet is that it can bring people from all over the world closer together than ever before.
(P.S. I’m not dead! Just not posting anything on the internet much)
I was wondering where you were, dude! Good to see ya!
Although I also officially support any person’s decision to be on the internet less. This is a wise choice.
