Well, I guess it’s a good thing I went ahead and predicted this page wouldn’t QUITE make the regularly scheduled Monday update, because I went and did a risky, self-indulgent thing I haven’t done for a while now… and no, I don’t mean draw Layla in something skimpy.  I mean, this wasn’t supposed to even be a page.  As planned, the next page was supposed to cut straight to Layla already changed into her new, non-messy outfit and on her way back.  It was all outlined and everything.  And then, at pretty much the very last moment possible, I got hit by this idea to re-do that one page where Layla can’t decide what to wear only with a gimmicky animated frame and way, waaaaaaay weirder clothing choices.  The weirdest thing is, even with the added headache of including the animation (which I had to go back and re-do literally in the middle of writing this because one of the frames had an error I hadn’t noticed last night) there’s still a very real possibility that this wound up taking LESS time than the originally planned page would have.  So look forward to THAT next time!

And that’s gonna be extra fun because I’ll also be doing an extra page on Sunday for Independence Day.  That’s right, I finally remembered to hype a holiday page in advance, for once!  Will it be as Wall Of Text heavy as last year’s page?  I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!  …and we’ll also have to wait and see if doing an extra comic means page 1183 gets pushed back a day or two.  It all depends on how much time everything takes, so watch the author’s comments on that one to see what’s up.

OH!  And regarding all these stupid T-Shirts Layla’s browsing through, long-time readers probably already know about Bug Boy being from that old Point Me At The Sky comic I keep saying I’m going to revive one day (though don’t ask me what’s up with the birthday cake, I was kind of just making things up as I drew them).  What you may NOT know is that the pink shirt isn’t just some random bootleg Eevee.  That’s actually Mahoumon, one of the fan Digimon I had on my old Geocities site back in the day.  Apparently Layla’s T-shirt collection digs DEEP into my backlog of old abandoned projects.  Next thing you know, she’s be walking around wearing one of my old Mega Man sprite comics…
