Sometimes my excuse for a page being late and/or unfinished is something I really want to beat myself up over, because it’s so clearly my own dumb fault. Other times it’s something I genuinely don’t feel at fault over, and can honestly feel proud to have gotten as much done as I did. And then there’s times like today, where I’m honestly not sure WHAT I feel. See, over the weekend I got on on a tear sketching out rough outlines of future pages. For a while now, I’ve been drawing these paged pretty much from scratch, with nothing to work with but a SUPER rough outline of the entire plot arc (that is, no specific page details). That’s kind of exhausting to do over and over for too long, and it’s one of the contributing factors to the recent scheduling woes, so you can see why it was a good thing to finally be a few pages ahead with the rough drafts. And I got waaaay more than a few pages done, by the time the dust settled I had several MONTHS worth of Far Out There pages sketched out… and was also way behind schedule on TODAY’S page. So, on the one hand, I can’t feel bad that I finally made some real long-term progress on future comic material… but on the other had, I do feel really stupid for burning myself out over stuff that WASN’T due the next day.

So, yeah, unfinished post right not to make sure SOMETHING goes up today; final draft to come either tonight or early tomorrow morning. Sorry! Oh, and the new TWC Voting Incentive is already up, since I managed to get that inked BEFORE the last of my creative energy ran out.

2/28 EDIT: Okay, I’m just gonna get out in front of things this time and officially declare than the next page won’t be up until sometime Saturday. I’ve been awake for, like, 27 hours already, and there’s pretty much no way I’ll be able to finish everything up tonight before I have to pass out. It’s not falling behind schedule if I chance the schedule before anyone has a chance to notice, right?

(Historical Notes: At this point, I feel like I should stop calling these “Historical Notes” and start calling them “Notes That Are Actually About The Finished Comics For Once.”  Anyway, the thing I like the best about this page is the knowledge that, despite what the Alt Text thinks, Hiro’s bit of seemingly absurd dialog actually DOES get a payoff later on.)
