Full disclosure: it didn’t occur to me until halfway through inking this page that I’d never really decided what the patch on Skye’s hat actually looked like. We never see it up close enough for me to need to work out that kind of detail. And, well, any long-time Far Out There reader knows how I am about setting details in stone without a really pressing reason, so suddenly the gag of this page became the “make your own patch” disclaimer on the tag. Heck, I could actually use that in-comic as an excuse if I ever DO draw something specific on Skye’s hat, then forget about it!
Sky changes her hat’s patch every few weeks. The real purpose of the patch is twofold. First it’s decorative, and second she can easily sneak something that produces a “friendly notification signal” into it, for when she’s on missions.
OoOooooh, that’s a clever idea, right there.
