Far Out There

Oh man, this page… There is just SO much going on in that first panel that I could never really get right.  I really wanted a low-angle shot with the door looming overhead, visible through the food ship’s dome thinggie.  And there are several levels on which that is ISN’T the kind of thing I can reliably pull off.  I have a long, well-documented history of just being good at weird perspectives like this.  In fact, I straight up threw out an entire draft of the top panel because it turned out wrong.  Fully inked and everything.  It is VERY rare for me to be so unhappy with the art that I’ll start over completely from scratch like that.  So, if other details like the holographic display look a little bit… unpolished, it’s because I really lost a lot of time that would normally be spent polishing up little details by totally re-drawing BIG ones.

And speaking of time, as I write this on Monday night/Tuesday morning, I’m really not sure if there’ll be a new Voting Incentive up when you read this on Friday.  And that’s not just me being all wishy-washy about my ability to remember when stuff needs to get done.  This is actually going to be a pretty darn busy week in Real Life, so I genuinely may not have time to get something else done after getting these regular pages finished up.  I dunno, we’ll see.

EDIT: Okay, not only DID I manage to finish up a new TWC Voting Incentive in time, but there’s actually MORE on the way!  At some point over this weekend, there’s going to be another Far Out There blog post over on Patreon!  I just got the text itself all finished up, but it’s late and I’m VERY tired, so I need to get some rest before I try to format the thing.  I’ll post something either here or in the comments when it’s posted.
