page 1374 – I Draw Sleeping Characters When I’m Tired
Webcomic Time is absolutely horrifying. I wrote this little page as a call back to something that, in this comic’s universe, was just a couple days ago. Then I go back to grab a link to it, and realize that comic was drawn EIGHT YEARS AGO. The passage of time is the enemy of us all. Also, yes, this isn’t EXACTLY what we saw Tabitha doing back then, but it is how Avatar perceives it (and hey, she’s trying to be better about it.)
Anyway, I really shouldn’t have kept saying all that “Things are finally getting back to normal!” stuff last week, because that’s just ASKING to get jinxed. Granted, it was mostly my own fault this time. I dove into, like, a dozen different things I needed to get caught back up on all at once, and by Friday night I pretty much felt like Stilez looks here. Honestly, it’s a minor miracle I was able to get this page posted this morning without any “temporary unfinished page” nonsense. Man, it really WAS a good thing I was able to grind out so many rough rafts while I was on the road.
EDIT: I ONLY FORGOT TO DO A NEW TWC VOTING INCENTIVE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS! IT’S UP NOW!

I’m actually surprised that Avatar hasn’t gotten into her Hoppy Feet Jim Jams (named on page 117, in the 2009 section) recently. We’ve seen her try to go to sleep a few times, after all.
I figure it’s because Stilez and Tax aren’t giving her time to go get changed. Stilez probably just decides “Okay, I wanna fall asleep right here” wherever they are, and Avatar doesn’t want to leave them unsupervised even just long enough to put on her pjs.
Yeah, and Tabitha wouldn’t have let Avatar out of her sight, either. Which means that Avatar couldn’t go back to her room, or get changed. She wasn’t going to let Tabitha see her room, nor would she want to change in front of either her or her zombie children.
That said, I want to see the return of the Hoppy Feet Jim Jams. It’s the only time we’ve seen Avatar wear something that actually fits her. And we know it’s indestructible, as it’s made of the same material her skin is. She refuses to wear anything that isn’t of that material, after all.
She can imagine how Tabitha would react to seeing her in the Hoppy feet Jim Jams, so she’s avoiding that. Trying not to encourage Tabitha to be even more…Tabithaish.
