Astrid’s Calamitous Christmas Caper – page 14
In the earlier draft of this page… well actually it was “drafts” plural because Astrid finding the mug was going to be the end of one page, and her reading the note was going to be where the full extent of the present scam was explained. But again, I had to condense a lot of things to keep the page count down, so the exposition about how they’re rigging the list to get extra toys made and then selling them for a profit all wound up happening earlier. I needed to fill up the extra space with new narration without just repeating myself, and it hit me that it’d be perfectly in character for Astrid to be more concerned with letting everybody know how clever she was about figuring out the plot than actually communicating that information to other people. You know those people who only tell stories for the benefit of their own hearing themselves say it? That’s Astrid.

I’m not sure about that third ID, but the first two are digit-reversed copies of IDs we saw in earlier pages of ACCC – Layla on page 9 had ID 357827557, and Mooney on page 10 had ID 338884574. Was that deliberate?
You know, I actually don’t remember what I was up to with those numbers. This is the danger of doing this many pages in such close proximity: a lot of details get lost in the shuffle when I try to remember behind the scenes stuff.
Definitely intentional, and it makes sense that the serial numbers to be reset would be “encoded” by reversing them since it was a secret/conspiracy message. Also conveniently explains how either of those two could have ever gotten off the naughty list! Gold Star to MauveCloud for noticing!
**hangs head in shame for not noticing** 🙁
