Valentine Invaders from Dimension Love!
That’s right! The totally real and not at all fake Far Out There game is STILL TOTALLY A REAL THING! (Click here for context if you’re confused by all this nonsense)
So, on the one hand, I feel bad any time a random holiday lands on a regular update day, and I just end up giving you all some non-canon silliness instead of a real page. On the other hand, though, I actually wound up getting this page done WAY ahead of schedule. And, like, only PARTIALLY because it was copy/pasted together from VRoid models and stock images and screencaps from early computer animation demos. It’s astonishing how quickly I can get stuff done when said something involved breaking out of a rut and doing something different. And now I’ve got that much more on a head start on page 1212 next week! …oh, and who wants to start placing bets on whether or not I forget to post a new TWC Voting Incentive on Wednesday night AGAIN?
EDIT: DANG IT!!!!!! Okay, it’s a day late AGAIN but the TWC Incentive is up now!
*Insert hovertext joke here about people who play mmorgs not having anything better to do on ANY day*
*Insert counter-joke about ANYTHING being better than participating in the worlds most artificially commercialized exploitative holiday*
*Insert counter counter joke about being fine with commercialization as long as it gets me my FOT MMORPG I’ve been waiting for! Where do I sign up to beta test???*
…and when it gets created I’m totally using ‘default_player_name’ as my player name.
Not if I claim it first.
Neither of you should be able to, as it should be the in-game Player Character of Avatar. Just like you shouldn’t be able to use the player names “Moneyluvr$$$”, “ScienceIsKewl”, “MammasPrincess12”, or, and I’m guessing at what his player name would be if not given outside assistance/direction, “Trigger”.
Nor the names “LaylaShinigami_666” or “TC457890” (which I suspect was only used for the beta tests, as Layla wouldn’t be foolish enough to call herself that in an online game).
See, what would REALLY happen is I would claim all those names ahead of time and assign them to bots that run around in-game doing my bidding 😀
And the bots would pretend to be Layla, Tabitha, Jenna, Avatar & Trigger. It works out perfectly!
Miffy is shaking her head in disappointment.
Since those names are clearly in high demand now, what you do is SELL them to players. For huge stacks of Cash! Freemium game upgrades are all the rage these days, or so I hear. (It kinda even says exactly that in the lower right hand corner of the strip already, so it’s not like you have any principles left anyway that might be offended, right?)
Sell? But you could get much more if you RENT the Premium Name/s for a week at a time! And sell the appropriately related skins, that can only be used when you have the correct names, as an add on! It’s a smaller initial payout, but if you set the price right, you could earn just as much over a month as you could in the initial payout!
Despite playing a model of herself, I doubt that Avatar, “Default_Player_Name” is actually playing a damage-sponge tank. Evasion tank is possible, but not damage-sponge. Layla’s obviously playing something with magical offense, and Tabitha would ALWAYS play something that involves Mad Science & Creation if at all possible. Jenna was probably “encouraged” by her brothers into playing a healer, before they dropped the game, leaving her to play alone, with one of the worst classes for solo-play.
Trigger would likely play something that involves setting up traps, and Ichabod would gripe about something from the development of the game before uploading it, and never actually boot it up before forgetting about it.
