page 48 – What We Have Here Is A Failure To Communicate
Original note – May 13, 2008
Well whaddaya know! More color! This time, the effect is slightly Frank Miller-esque, I think. While it certainly looks cool, my main reason for coloring in the torches was just to make sure they actually stood out amongst all those heads.
Oh, and just in case you’re wondering if I’m building up to whole pages in color… naw, I’m still way too lazy to do something complicated like THAT.
That reminds me of something, though. You’ll notice that this page features the first character in Far Out There history to have skin pigmentation visible on the actual page. That’s a good example of how black and white works well for lazy people: you can just make everyone vaguely caucasian-ish and save, like, a whole MINUTE that would otherwise be spent adding skin color!
(Historical Note: Just in case you thought I was bluffing with all of those “This will eventually get explained one day!” notes, THIS page of all things actually got followed up on just a week or two before the great site migration began. And it only took a whole decade!)
