LOTS of little easter eggs to previous Far Out There comics in this one… although there is NO past context or world building details that will explain why the HECK I made that hovership thing look like a boot. Sometimes I just… DO things.
(Historical Notes: This is one of the less successful pages, looking back. I was a bit too focused on squeezing in random extra details to notice how the lighting is all wrong. This page needed to be WAY darker, with just the lights of Trigger’s phone and the shoe cops illuminating anything. But alas, then we couldn’t have seen a blurry Gright in a Santa hat.)
@historical note – I’m assuming the Gright sign is a billboard, so you could just draw it as a lit billboard (I’ve no idea if that is excessively difficult to do with art tools or not) and there wouldn’t be any problem! Of course then we probably would have missed the window sign for the Miffy Mart which is probably closed for the night, so maybe it’s for the best.
Also, I knew Layla didn’t care much for nitpickers, but, wow, ordering Trigger to retrieve a Masogentes Genocide Pie™ (or other similar weaponized pastry) for their Christmas party is a bit harsh!
Naw, I’m sure Trigger only ordered it by accident. That, or Layla sent him to a shady black market bakery and they messed the order up.
Also, it is meant to be a billboard, but that still doesn’t excuse the lighting here. I should have done this page like Page 7, only Green instead of Red.
