Far Out There

Out of this whole batch of new characters, Whitby and his mask are probably my most favorite… which is why I’m constantly terrified of discovering that I’ve unintentionally ripped off some other mask design. I mean, I know there’s a lot of mask designs that at least partially influenced Whitby’s design, but I wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night afraid someone will point out a some mask somewhere that this directly copies. I mean, there’s no WAY I can actually come up with something I like this much on my own, right?

(Historical Notes: Not much to add here, I still really love that mask and still live in fear of the day somebody finally discovers some random anime from the mid-90s that I might have seen a screenshot of and unconsciously stole the design from.  I mean, why not?  It turns out “Christmas Bricks” are a totally real thing!)
