Well, this is embarrassing. Another half-finished page, and for one of the silliest reason I can ever remember happening: I lost the rough draft of the comic. Not, like, a technical problem where a file didn’t save and I had to start the editing process over, I mean I physically lost the sheet of paper it was written on. Which, admittedly, wouldn’t have been that big a problem if I could remember how the comic was supposed to go, but I somehow managed to forget everything except the but that sets up the NEXT comic. The part that’s actually, you know, funny and entertaining to the reader? A complete blank. And, obviously, writing a whole page from the ground up takes a lot longer than just putting ink to what’s already mostly finished, so here we are.

As is so often the case, though, I’m pretty sure this version of the page is funnier than whatever I wrote the first time. I still can’t remember what that draft of the comic WAS, but I’m 99% sure it WASN’T Layla running through all the various things that’ve been happening off-screen. Maybe Layla found Trigger hiding in one of the air ducts and had to pull him out? Whatever it was, it didn’t involve any glimpses of the Caligaris, so it’s a worse idea by default.

Anyway, if you’re seeing the line art version now, come back later tonight and there should be a cleaned up, colored in version to replace it.

Oh, but I DID get another Voting Incentive done at the usual time, and yes, I’m still experimenting. This is for a purpose, I promise.

(Historical Notes: I don’t think it happened here, but there was at least one instance where I couldn’t find a rough draft for a while, only to find I’d actually drawn part of the final draft on the other side of that same sheet.  That’s the kind of fine-tuned machine I operate around here.  Also, the blocking of that last panel makes it look like Trigger is scared of melodramatic old movies.)
