page 951 – Turn Over
HEY WOW! I ACTUALLY GOT AN EXTRA PAGE DONE BEFORE LEAVING FOR OTAKON! This bodes well for the Conventional Wisdom update!
Also, WOW! SOMEBODY’S ACTUALLY USING THE SHIP’S CONFERENCE HALL! When’s the last time we even SAW that room?
Also also, I’m HOPING there’ll be a new Voting Incentive up by the time you read this. I mean, I’m drawing a new Incentive one way or the other, but since I’m posting this, like, a week in advance, it MIGHT end up going live before I actually have the Incentives swapped out. Just check back later and everything should be good to go.
EDIT: OKAY! New incentive is finally up! Sorry about that!
(Historical Notes: Readers more attentive than me worked out that the last time we actually saw the ship’s conference hall was all the way back in page 39. No doubt we’ll finally be seeing a plot-crucial use of the nursery any day now. Also, I just want to say that this is the first time where it’s really felt like I wasn’t revisiting an “old” comic. It’s hard to pinpoint an exact reason, but this is just where it truly starts to feel like “modern” Far Out There to me. I suppose it helps that this low key one of my favorite pages. It just sums up what everybody on the page is all about in one quick snapshot.)
@historical note – you say that jokingly, but just a few strips later we see Tabitha making use of the shooting range for storage – that’s right next to the nursery! So it could happen!
@alttext – Stilez can read just fine, but like a lot of kids, she prefers having her parent-figure (Tax) read to her instead.
I mean, Tax IS the one holding the card, so you could say Stilez just doesn’t want to grab it from her. It just looks weird to me, even by usual Stilez standards.
