page 818 – Breaking News
Just in case you forgot that there was a MASSIVE NIGHTMARISH SPACE THING when this ship first appeared. (Along with, like, a billion callbacks if you can squint hard enough)
So, I don’t actually have the Voting Incentive for today quite done as I write this, but in all likelyhood, it’ll be up by the time anybody reads this, so hey, go ahead and give it a look!
Also, check it out! I finally got started on the new Voting Incentive & Patreon Gallery! …and if the past weekend was any indication, it’ll take me AGES to get everything moved over to the new page. Still, I’ve got all the 2010 stuff up, so if you wanna REALLY take a stroll down memory lane, how’s your chance (and, of course, if you’ve got any complains or comments about the page layout, now’s the time to let me know)
(Historical Notes: Gotta get that one line in about nobody actually getting killed, that makes EVERYTHING better!)
@ Historical Notes: Yes, nobody getting directly killed by Tabitha’s Spatial Distortion makes the fact that the economic impact would cripple multiple PLANETS economies, possibly on a permanent basis, resulting in mass job losses, unemployment, and likely starvation. Much better than one person being outright stated as being killed by the thing.
To be fair, from the glimpses we’ve seen over the years, the default state of any planet’s society in the Far Out There universe is probably near or total collapse, so Tabitha probably didn’t break anything that wasn’t broken already.
I’ve tried to use that excuse many times myself (But it was already broken!) but it never works for me 🙁
Tabitha is saved by the narrative rule that nobody ever dies unless it is specifcally stated that somebody dies. So, while you’re totally correct that damage beyond a certain amount is certain to cause deaths, no matter how much damage you cause, if it’s not stated, nobody died. Somehow.
Similarly, despite it being clearly impossible to lay waste to entire planets and star systems without any concern for the consequences without some innocent people getting killed, Stilez has never killed any innocent people. Because it’s never been overtly stated that she had. Just Bad people. And Robots. Lots and Lots of Robots. So many Robots.
