Fun fact: way back when we first saw Reverend Bonfire call Skye “Skychild”, I intended that to be a hippy-dippy nickname he’d made up. But later, as I was working on character profile stuff (AND YES, I AM STILL WORKING ON THOSE), the thought occurred that’d it’d be a lot funnier if her ACTUAL name was the hippy-dippy one and she just called herself “Skye” out of embarrassment. I like that ‘cos, well, Skye’s been a little too… together. I think it’s interesting to find something that actually gets her all flustered and annoyed.
Speaking of flustered and annoyed, we’ve got the next in our Voting Incentive series. Man, you guys would not BELIEVE how many of these I ended up sketching out over the past week. It’s about the only thing related to this comic I’ve actually managed to get ahead on in a WHILE.
And speaking of things Related To This Comic, I’ve been towing with the idea of getting on Patreon, and would really appreciate any feedback I can get about what sort of incentive/reward/whatevers might get you to consider pledging money. Thoughts?
(Historical Notes: I think I already said this on the re-posts of the Conventional Wisdom material from this period, but it’s REALLY weird to see Past Me trying to figure the Patreon stuff out when Present Me is trying to figure it out ALL OVER AGAIN because Past Me botched it the first time around.)
ARE you still working on the character profile stuff? Because I would love to see one about “Shining Skychild” here. She could have gone with Shine for her abbreviated name, unless Shining is her family name and it’s before her name just because that’s how her family does it.
Also, is Trigger going to look back in memory of how Sky looked when she was all embarrassed in fond memory of how cute she looks right now sometime in the future? Or is he too innocent for that?

But then SmackJeeves imploded and reconfigured itself to be the not-SmackJeeves it is today and they were lost.
I tended to look at those fairly regularly (in hopes of checking names & spellings), and they hadn’t been updated in a fair while. Which is the main reason I was asking that question.
Yeah, there’s gonna be a Character profile page again. It’s just weird right now because, not only are there still a lot of comic pages left to re-post, but a lot of the new characters/info that needed updating only shows up in those later pages. So posting a character index with all that info now would actually be MORE confusing to people. But it is coming, and the main mission goal there is to have fresh profile pictures for everybody, so that all the “other characters” entries will be more than just names without faces.
