Page 498 – Something to think about
I’m stretching things out again, guys. The whole “lights go out” bit was only supposed to take a couple of panels, maybe one page of full attention, tops. But I JUST KEEP MILKING IT because mostly black pages are really easy to draw, and I always seem to be running out of time. For example, I’m heading down to Raleigh for Thanksgiving tomorrow night, so I gotta get all of this week’s comics finished RIGHT NOW.
…but honestly, I probably would have gone ahead and done this page anyway, AND IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT! 🙂 See, I only added the “Trigger freaking out” bit as a means of having SOMETHING happen during last week’s pages. It wasn’t until you guys started speculating about WHY he got so worked up that I actually started thinking about it myself. I like this explanation, since it’s the kind of thing a kid with Trigger’s skills would thing about, AND it allowed for the punchline of a freaked-out Layla!
So, guess what? THE KILLER STATION OF DEADLY DOOM IS FINALLY BACK! Go vote for Far Out There on TWC and see what happens next!
…and enjoy it, ‘cos there may not be another page Friday. I KNOW, I’M SORRY, but I won’t be back until Saturday, and with the amount of stuff I need to get finished before I leave, I doubt I’ll be able to squeeze another page in.
BUT, on the other hand, be sure to tune in here Thursday for a little something extra!
(Historical Notes: Somebody pointed out a typo while I was out of town that week… and I only just now got around to fixing it, eight years later. I really wish this was the only time I could refer to that happening)
The “No” shirt fits so well here, it communicates Layla’s response to Trigger’s statement ☺, although I don’t see Layla as a seasoned space traveler.
Well, Layla did say back on page 30 that she owned 5 space ships (back when she was rich), although she technically didn’t say she used them much, that probably qualifies her as seasoned in space travel in the eyes of a kid who grew up in an underground bunker 😉
Also, Welcome to the Comments Section, thefool! 😀
The beauty of Layla’s “No” shirt is that it honestly fits her mood in MOST situations 🙂
