Page 456 – Incoming Guilt
THERE! Page is online… sort of. Obviously, it’s not colored, and I don’t have the voting incentive scanned yet, but TECHNICALLY THIS UPDATE STILL HAPPENED ON TUESDAY! FAR OUT THERE’S PERFECT RECORD STILL STANDS!
So… yeah. I’ma go get to work on finishing up the rest of this stuff. Keep an eye on either my twitter or the Facebook page for an announcement on when the final draft of the comic and Voting Incentive are both ready. It SHOULD be all up later tonight, but MIGHT be early tomorrow morning. We’ll see.
And, of course, thanks to Viga for the new (well, new to me) scanner, and thanks to all of you for putting up with the delay! You’re all awesome!
EDIT: Okay, the latest Killer Station of Deadly Doom is finished and online too, so go vote and see that. I’ll get to work on coloring this page next, but I don’t think I’ll really have to announce when THAT’S done.
MOAR EDIT: Aww, what the heck, I’ll add a comment or two anyway. I’ll be trying to figure out the ins and outs of this new scanner for a while, so the image quality might be a little uneven for a while. Still, I guess this one turned out alright for a rush job.
(Historical Notes: MAN, there’s a lot of postscript on this page, huh? I was really pleased at just how many people seemed to be COMPLETELY surprised by this turn of events. I’m always worried about people figuring out the ending too far in advance, so seeing proof that I actually CAN pull off a surprise on occasion is very comforting. Also, I Special Edition’d the final panel here to make Jenna a bit bigger and fill up some of that needless empty space. Here’s hoping you never would have noticed if I hadn’t said anything.)
You have got to be kidding! That “small child” was going around disrupting anything he could, including threatening the integrity of the ship (popcorn maker). This is much better than he deserves.
That “small child” has also purposefully taken actions that could have easily killed the person verbally protecting them on multiple occasions, and regularly takes action to physically abuse, if not outright torture, her. If the practically completely self-inflicted mild trauma he’s receiving in this instance doesn’t help ensure he grows up to be a slightly better person than he was going to be, nothing will.
It’s more just a case of Jenna being too good and pure for this wicked world. Everybody ELSE realizes that Megaweapon totally had this coming, but she just can’t bring herself to be satisfied by it.
Edit: also, HOLY CRAP when did the edit feature come back? I swear, I didn’t even do anything! It just started working again all on its own! I’ve been trying to fix this plug in for MONTHS and it just suddenly starts working again of its own accord?
@ Edit Feature: No idea, it was just there when I posted and I assumed that you had done some maintenance on the site that fixed it. Maybe the Edit Feature just didn’t want to load or something?
I’m trying to use it, but it keeps kicking me off to other pages! Not sure why. It did it twice and I don’t know why!
WordPress just did an update recently, so something in that might have cleared up whatever the conflict was, which I guess means I’ll never actually know WHAT the problem was. Also, I’ve yet to encounter the “kicking off the page” bug yet. WHY MUST YOU BE SUCH A MYSTERY, EDIT PLUG IN?
I suspect that the edit thought that I was simultaneously trying to change the page in the “Jump To” part of the page, as the two pages I believe I moved to was page 457 (aka, the next page along), and the non-comic page of “Well Crap”. I think that I moved to page 457 when pressing an arrow key, and “Well Crap” while typing.
Edit Add: Now let’s see if I can recreate it! Okay, messing with the left and right arrow keys while in Edit can change pages! At least on some computers. I used the same computer I had the issue with to check, so it is repeatable for me.
Oh wow, I can make it browse back and forth between pages at ANY point with those buttons… I had absolutely NO idea that was a thing.
And that is why I checked to see if I could recreate my issue and inform you of what actions I’m taking when it pops up. Yay for debugging assistance!
I’m actually debating if I should root around the site settings and see if I can turn that off. That just seems like a “feature” that most people are only going to activate by accident.
