Far Out There

You know, born Nitpickers like myself really shouldn’t be allowed to write science fiction. We get so bent out of shape when other people fail to explain how things work or don’t follow an established, internal logic that we go MAD over-explaining that stuff in our own stories. Even worse, we actually create egghead characters so that, when one of those mountains of exposition occurs, we can say “It’s not bad writing! It’s TOTALLY IN CHARACTER for her to say stuff like that!”

…and THEN we lampshade the whole thing by making the other characters look annoyed and by pointing the whole thing out in the artist rant.
