page 2 – Our Heroes?

Seriously, I couldn’t come up with a way of writing this thing that didn’t involve holing most of the characters back for a WHILE.
There IS a story here, though, I promise! Just bear with me!
(Historical Note: I keep saying I’m going to go back and redraw these opening comics, maybe for a book or something, and if I do I’ll change this whole bit. There’s really no reason why there major characters were being treated as something mysterious to be revealed)
What?! no no no no! This is totally historical stuff! I’v read these panels so many times it wouldn’t feel right if they changed 🙂
Actually, I kind of assumed that was the joke you were going for – the ironic “building up for a mysterious dramatic reveal” of something that was ordinary and mundane. To sort of poke fun at similarly overdramatized reveals in other media.
Or the joke was there, but you didn’t intend for it to be? 😉
That WAS the joke, I just don’t think it’s as funny now as I did then. Also, if I do get around to drawing a book version of this arc, it’ll have WAY less narration, so it’d need a lot more exposition to be handled through dialog, which would necessitate seeing the characters doing the dialoging.
But don’t worry, I’d never Special Edition things so much that these original pages wouldn’t still be on the site. It’s specifically be a For The Book thing.

Yeah, but I THINK I’ve been pretty good about adding disclaimers at the relevant ret-con points. Hopefully.
