Page 145 – Nitpicking Does Not Equal Peacemaking
I don’t think they really thought through the implications of a guy trained to pick nits having to actually… TALK to people.
I feel some apologies are in order for this page. I’d already written one to go up today, but bumped it back to next week in order to drag out this encounter a little longer. More of Dr. Caligari wigging out is nice, but it meant I had to whip this thing together VERY late in the game. As a result, by the time I realize just how much space this layout wasted, it was too late to start over.
The point? There’s no cameos today. The space I’d left in the first panel ended up being too small for any characters to be recognizable, and there really wasn’t anyplace else to slip someone in. Don’t worry, Tuesday’s comic will be much better thought out than this.
(Historical Notes: Don’t apologize so much, Past Me. This page probably looks better than half the pages that were done on purpose in this era. All those stock Manga Studio effects occupy the eyes quite nicely. …admittedly, a huge, gesturing Dr. Caligari taking up the entire right side of the page, with everyone reacting to him in their own little panels down the left would have been even better, especially if the goofy final panel were left as is. Still, this one tuned out okay.)
