page 1427 – Just Good Rules for Any Interaction
Those pants look like they’d be REALLY challenging to more around in without tripping over yourself.
So, a bit of an artistic trade off going on here. Part of me feels like the pacing of this page would have been funnier if there was an extra panel in the middle, a little beat of quiet before Ichabod starts talking. But on the other hand, a page layout like that would have most likely required me to punk out on having any sort of background again, just more close-ups and color gradients. I decided on the former because we’ve already had too many of the latter recently, but that in itself isn’t really the best reason to be making creative decisions, so I’m still a bit iffy on the end result. Also, I obviously punked out on the crowd in the top panel, but THAT was pretty much entirely because I’ve got stuff I gotta go do tomorrow, so I needed to go ahead and get some actual sleep tonight. Eer, “last night” since most of you won’t be reading this until some time Tuesday. Man, webcomics really are terrible for a person’s perception of linear time…

I disagree with Layla’s statement here. Layla was regretting the decision before she made any choices, and made her choice because of a decision already made. Specifically, the decision made by Tabitha, Trigger, Marshall & “the adults in the room” to make a food-based spaceship and send it off after the kids in an escape pod.
