page 1157 – subtle body language
(Historical Notes: I seem to recall this page turning out much harder to draw than expected, since I didn’t fully appreciate how many of the “nope” poses really depend on motion to convey their meaning. Also, Aunt Domino’s line at the end is still one of my favorite Far Out There quotes ever.)
I just checked one of the sign languages word for “No”. The first one I found (and it’s probably not the American Sign Language) involves movement.
