Far Out There

Dang it, I really didn’t wanna post this one half-finished. Not only is the inking still pretty sloppy, and there’s still plenty of background jokes missing, but there’s FOREGROUND stuff missing too! Close-up Trigger in the top panel is supposed to be out of focus to give things a more multi-layered effect. Buuuuuuuuut unlike Tuesday’s page, I think the main dialog is juuust enough for the comic to hold its own until I can put the bells and whistles in.

And man, I really don’t need to be doing that kind of layers upon layers effect work without taking a nap. I have been up for a LOOOOONG time at this point, and I’ve officially passed the point of doing really stupid stuff without realizing it, so I figured I’d better go ahead and get something online before I accidentally kick the computer over or something. As usual with these things, tune in later today for the final draft, and see the new Voting Incentive while you wait.

Actually, speaking of Top WebComics, I’ve got something weird cooking: A new month starts Sunday, and that’s when TWC resets all those Like It or Hate It Bonus Incentives. It seems to take most users a few days to remember to reinstate their Bonus Incentives, meaning that if I go ahead and do it right away, somebody with nothing to do late Saturday night/early Sunday morning could vote their way through all the active Incentives in about 15 minutes. A quick way to give Far Out There a nice little boost in the rankings!

But here’s the fun part: this time, some of those Bonus Incentives will actually be ALL NEW NEVER BEFORE SEEN CONTENT! I’ve been doing a few extra pieces on the side ever since the Becky & Gilb comics started, mostly as a way to get over artist’s block. The plan was to save them all up as regular Incentives to use after this current series finished… but I really have no idea when that series WILL end, and it just seems like a waste to have finished content just sitting on my computer doing nothing, so instead I’m gonna use it as an extra special gift to whoever’s dedicated enough to click through the whole Like It or Hate It cycle… And, again, that should take a lot lest time than usual this Sunday, so if you wanna see all the new stuff really quick, that’ll be your chance!

(Historical Notes: Well, you certaintly can’t say that the Far Out There faithful haven’t worked those TWC voting buttons regularly.  Wow.  Also, I can’t remember if I had thisplanned out far enough for Past Me to have realized it, but that Alt Text is a REALLY blatant spoiler.)
