Far Out There

Well, well, well; another late page. But hey, at least it’s a WHOLE page this time, right? Yeah, originally there was gonna be one extra establishing shot of Alphonse just sitting by the airlock, and that’s where last Friday’s art came from. So, what’s my excuse this time? Did I have ANOTHER sudden creative epiphany that forced me to throw out everything I’d worked on for today? Nope, I’m afraid the explanation this time is far more generic: I got really sick last night and just had to go lie down. Nothing super serious, I’ve just spent the past few weeks trying to finish Conventional Wisdom stuff: not sleeping properly while consuming nothing but junk food and soda while sitting hunched over a computer with a big ol’ fan blowing in face to deal with the heat that comes off the thing. Somewhere between my digestive system being horribly abused, my head having all the moisture blown out of it, and my immune system trying to operate with zero down time, everything just decided to rebel against me for a few hours. Obviously, I’m doing better now, but it still really threw off the time table for today’s page.

I suppose I could have done the old “slap text on an unfinished version of the page” thing to buy some time… but that unfinished version wouldn’t have had all the text on the boxes in the airlock, and let’s face it, those are the funniest things on the whole page.

Once again, though, the Voting Incentive managed to go up more or less on time. I should stop calling those “Voting Incentives” and start calling them “placeholder comics that go up somewhere else”
