Far Out There

BOUNDARIES, TRIGGER.

So, obviously, Skye’s look is the one we already saw in that one Voting Incentive a while back… which actually presented a bit of a problem thematically. As you’ve no doubt noticed, I’m trying to squeeze as many little references into these character designs as possible, but that wasn’t really a priority back when I did the incentive. The design is SORT OF inspired by Razor Ramon (mainly the vest) and the “Sensational” bit is kind of a reference to Sherri Martel, but for the most part it’s just kind of “generic wrestler.” I came pretty close to giving her a new design (something Dude Love-based, maybe?) before realizing that I could actually spin this into a joke later on. Like, a REAL joke, not another in-joke. So stay tuned!

But speaking of in-jokes, Trigger’s swanky red jacket look is inspired by some duds Mean Gene Okerlund used to wear waaaay back when he worked for the AWA. In fact, you can’t see it very clearly, but there’s actually a little combination of a Far Out There logo and the AWA logo that I might need to redo in a larger scale. I think it looks petty neat!

Next, there OUGHT to be a fresh Voting Incentive up by the time you read this… but since I’m writing this a few days in advance, there’s no telling if it’ll actually be up at the stroke of midnight or not. But if it’s not there right now, it WILL be in a few hours.

…oh, and finally: yeah, I know. I’m a sucker for alliteration in stage names.

(Historical Notes: If I were doing this comic now, I would ABSOLUTELY have replaced the gradient backgrounds of the back stage segments with photoshoped screen grabs of the NWA Power set.)
