Look, there’s only so many ways I can just draw Avatar on her own before I need to start getting more of the cast involved. Besides, half the fun of these holiday pages is getting to do stuff with characters that the regular continuity doesn’t allow for!
Speaking of other characters, if Tabitha kind of looks like an afterthought here, that’s ‘cos she totally is. The dialog just didn’t feel natural if “she” didn’t actually appear, and referring to Tabitha by name felt too formal for the mood at the moment. Also, another chance for me to show off the Frankenstein tree shirt!
Layla is just radiating joy at being dressed as a creepy Christmas doll.
She’s torn, because she DOES respect the merchandising hustle, she just doesn’t want to be the one who puts on the costume.
