An Avatar Christmas – page 2
Okay, so full disclosure: I’m not even gonna try to do a real narrative this year, just a bunch of pictures with a sort of uniting theme… most notably the character in all of them. For one thing, the years where I really tried hard to do full-on comics (like the wrestling one) inevitably wind up being the most time-consuming and stressful to get finished. I really REALLY wanted to try and get all of these done as far ahead of Christmas as possible, and that means embracing simplicity and minimalism. At the very least, I’m not doing anything else with more than one panel per page, ‘cos that alone speeds things up like you wouldn’t believe.
That’s not to say there won’t be SOME degree of conceptual progression at work here, just wait and see…
And in the mean time, also hop by Patreon and check out the next of the Far Out There Christmas things going up there, cos THIS one’s about Avatar too!
EDIT: Oh yeah! New TWC Voting Incentive too! That’s also up today!
Wait… is this “Avatar finds the crew and organises a search/preparation party for the Xmas Party”, or is it “Cute, Xmas’y pictures of Avatar”?
I’m fine with either one, and this can be a setup for both. The Author Comment suggests the second, but the first could happen too with a fairly basic plot.
Definitely the second. The part of my brain that would be required to script out the first is on Christmas vacation.
Honestly, you could easily do both, as it only really needs one-image scenes. It doesn’t even need words. The “script” is as follows:
– A few days of Avatar working out that she’s on her own. Up to the 3rd.
– A couple days of Avatar looking for someone. Up to the 5th.
– Avatar stumbles across Tax, who’s also on her own, and asks her to help finding everyone currently on the ship. Up to the 8th.
– Avatar looking on her own for another day. On the 9th.
– Avatar stumbling across someone else, let’s say… Blip. She asks for help on the 10th. He agrees on the 11th. One of the background images on the 12th is him being thrown by an explosion.
– Image for the 12th, Avatar regretting asking for help from Blip & Tax, as Tax returns having remembered that Avatar asked her to do something, but forgetting what it was.
– Avatar tries to get Tax & Blip to work together in searching for everyone else on the 13th. On the 14th we see that this is doomed, but Avatar decides that she’ll be in a worse position than where she started if she searches with them around.
– A few more days of Avatar searching for people. This’ll get us to the 17th.
– Avatar hears music and chases after it on the 18th.
– It’s revealed to be Vashti’s Family carolling to the Hector Family on the 19th.
– Avatar reveals her search on the 20th.
– Augusta agrees to help on the 21th. Releases a maid/robot/other army on the 22nd.
– Avatar’s carried to the crew on the 23rd. Possibly by robots or maids, or in a mechanical sleigh.
– Celebratory party of the main cast of the 24th.
– Tax shows up with Blip & Stillez on the 25th.
– Reveals that Stillez and Tax shared Xmas Dinner with Vashti’s Family & the Hector Family without destroying anything simply because of how joyful, generous and friendly Augusta was about everything until the 27th.
– Crew returns to the ship until the 29th.
– Avatar sleeping cute image on the 30th.
– Everyone else goes to see fireworks on the 31st.
– New Year’s image on the 1st of Jan.
Okay, I unironically just wrote down the bit about Jenna’s family and Vashti’s family knowing each other for later use, because that’s kind of an amazing idea right there.
