Far Out There

Avatar just strikes me as the sort of kid who’d much rather MAKE a card by hand rather than go out and buy one. The sad thing is that this page actually took a LOT longer to draw than I expected (of course, I WAS watching Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars the whole time)

By the way, you’ll notice that Vengeance is strangely absent from this group picture. That was just a lapse of memory on my part, but it actually makes sense for something Avatar would draw. The girl doesn’t exactly seem all that fond of him, after all…

(Historical Note: One of these days, I want to do a Christmas series where the whole thing is just cards from the various characters… but make them actual cards.  Like, physically make them and post pictures.  Some of them would be in-universe store-bought cards, others would be hand-made and of varying levels of quality depending on who did it.  Alphonse would do one full of elegant calligraphy on fancy paper, while Bridget’s would be even sloppier than this.  Because I clearly haven’t made myself over-worked enough yet)
