page 20 – So, How Was YOUR Day?

Now THIS was a brilliant lay-out choice right here. Just follow the line, even when it runs backwards. Well, it makes sense to me, at least, but I’ve had years of manga to train me to read in any direction (plus, I kind of know how the lines are supposed to go in advance)
(Historical Note: Really, past me? Of all the terrible page layouts so far, THIS is the one I singled out to mock? This isn’t even the most confusing one!)
All layouts are confusing because my brain now reflexively begins reading every page from the upper right corner.
I blame Japan.
That’s… honestly probably the reason. My manga reading was at an all-time high around this point, so I was probably even more heavily conditioned than usual to view any sequential layout as more of a SUGGESTION than a rule
I really like this layout. I don’t read manga, but I read a lot of webcomics and I actually enjoy your creative use of space, as much as your comments have been down on it.
Thanks! I do still like the idea behind these layouts, I just feel like the execution needed a lot of work.
