Far Out There

There are two things I really love about this scene. On the one hand, it of course makes sense that a little greedbag like Layla would be a master of present shaking. But on the OTHER hand, think about it for a second: this is the FUTURE. Getting some x-ray goggles or something has got to be a simple task, so if Layla just wanted to know what was in that box, she could find out for sure in a second. But that wouldn’t be very sporting, would it? No, friends, if she’s doing this the old fashioned way, it’s because she’s in it for the THRILL OF THE HUNT.

Okay, so apparently despite the whole “locking up the site for a whole weekend” thing, Drunk Duck didn’t get the whole server move thing done and will need to freeze things up AGAIN in the near future. They haven’t said when though, so I don’t know if it’ll disrupt the daily updates any. If things do get shut down during the next week and a half and I’m NOT able to put any new pages up (apparently, even automatic updates don’t happen during these things) I’ll just do a big, multi-page update afterwards to get caught up. I’d LIKE to promise to upload the extra stuff BEFORE the freeze, but at the rate these pages are getting done, I don’t think that’s realistic. Darn me and my shoddy work ethic…

(Historical Edit: Oh yeah, this is DEFINITELY when I started looking at SmackJeeves, or ANYTHING else, to at least serve as a backup site.  Also, two things about the art on this one.  First, it’s extremely weird seeing Layla rocking the whole Zettai Ryouiki thing with the skirt & socks.  That’s just not a natural look for her.  On the other hand, check out Trigger’s outfit.  I was all sneaky with these Christmas comics and slipped in some experimental hippy clothes, just to see how it’d look.  It’s obviously got a ways to go, as demonstrated by the presence of actual shoes, but we’re getting closer and closer to the definitive Trigger!)
