page 1435 – Just Stereotypical Girl Things
If this page looks a bit bashed together at the last minute… then you understand how I structure statements in an ironic manner. Yeah, to he hoest, I actually started drawing the NEXT page first, which just jumped straight to Layla, then realized there really ought to be some kind of scene transition. And thus, THIS page was born. Hey, if nothing else, this lets you know that Friday’s page is already drawn! Meaning it’ll be that mush less affected by me being burned out from cranking out another batch of Conventional Wisdom pages between now and then! Good times!
Oh, and for those with long memories, this is actually a bit of a call-back to this VERY early page.
I’m just horrified that callback was FIFTEEN YEARS AGO. That just can’t be right….
(so, like, a couple weeks in-comic time)
Honestly, I believe that we’ve had a few callbacks to Layla’s inability to pick from her assortment of clothes since then, and looking back I’m surprised that the more recent ones didn’t include clothes thrown everywhere. The most recent ones being pages 1234 & 1182.
Any time a character complains about having “nothing to wear”, I’m tempted to suggest they “wear nothing”. I’d be surprised if they actually go through with it (especially in a comic/movie/tv show/whatever that’s supposed to be family-friendly) but it most cases I wouldn’t personally get upset if they did. Alternatively, the suggestion might help to break their indecision.
