What’s this? A party with the Nitpicker’s Guild? Gosh, where have I seen THAT before? Don’t worry, that’s not what the big surprise is this year… though CERTAIN elements of that series might feel familiar in a little bit…
Sophia, Claire, and Mariska are the only Nitpickers who actually exist – those other guys only exist at Christmas and in incentives, so Ichabod is totally justified in not counting them.
And cutaway gags. Can’t forget the cutaway gags.
I’m not sure this counts, but we HAVE seen Von Cannon in cannon where the plot was… and I’m not sure if it counts as a cutaway gag or not. The time Marshall jumped through the portal to the Nitpicker’s Storage-Moon to get ingredients, Von Cannon was on the same moon getting spare Bandanna’s, close enough to see Marshall.
Blitz, could you please tell me if that counts as a cutaway gag or not? I don’t actually know.
Hmmm, that’s an interesting point. In practice, as a matter of writing structure, I’d say yes… but the fact that it’s “cutting away” to another corner of the same location at the same time does make it hit differently from the viewpoint of the reader. I guess it all depends on whose perspective the term is being applied from.
