page 1387 – Luggage is Eternal
Okay, this page is an example of that rarest of rare things: an instance of me actually COMBINING multiple pages into one and speeding things up, instead of the usually spreading events out and slowing everything down! Yeah, I actually had one version of this page completely inked and ready to scan, only to throw out the second half and draw it all over again, with time with the FOLLOWING page’s punchline grafted on. I kind of wish I’d re-drawn the first half too, since that top panel is taking up more space than it really needs (seeing as how the art was drawn to accommodate an entirely different panel layout), but then this page would have taken even longer to finish than it did. And I already had to stop to take a nap in the middle of this one. Still, I’m really glad I went ahead and took a second pass at Avi’s evil laugh. This version is ABSOLUTELY more effective than take one.
And, as always, remember to check back for a fresh TWC Voting Incentive on Friday, and keep an eye out for additional announcements on when I finally finish some of the Patreon stuff I’ve been tinkering with!
EDIT: Fresh TWC Voting Incentive is up, and although the Patreon story I’ve been working on still isn’t ready yet, there IS a special blog post up over there!

I actually had a random thought about the comic the other day, and couldn’t post immediately. And I’m sorry if this changes the plot of the near future, or successfully predicts it.
The random thought? TRIGGER was on that escape pod for an extensive period. Trigger, the professionally trained mechanical saboteur who managed to reach a point where it’s instinctive. Trigger, who finds sabotage fun, and whose training prioritised delayed initiations.
I can see a future where the Escape Pod gets out of the Captain’s Ship, and then is stranded in space, between the originally stolen ship and the Captain’s Ship. And then the Captain’s Ship needs to pick them up again. Not because of anything nefarious, but because Trigger passed a control panel a half-dozen times while moving things and couldn’t help himself.
Hmmm, that’s an interesting thought, right there. I don’t think it would specifically work as a plot point here, simply because Trigger’s bad experiences interacting with the boys would dampen his enthusiasm for poking around anything they were involved with, but that’s a pretty good twist to have on the back burner for future use!
Alternately, on its way over there, the pod begins spinning at about 200 rpm. It arrives at its destination and dumps the disoriented and very nauseous boys into the other ship. They remark that it was strange because there was no reason for the pod to to that, and continue on their way eventually to whatever disaster they were planning. And only those of us who actually read the comments will ever know why.
Now, when have I ever been known to do stuff that only a handful of longtime readers would ever understand? 😀
Ah, but Blitz I’m proposing that Trigger did it not as a prank, but out of habit when he was emptying it of the boy’s luggage. This was before he had any bad experiences with the boys.
AAAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhh I see.
