Poor Layla. How do you ask for a second chance when acknowledging your need of one will ensure that you won’t get it?
Also, just for the record, I want to point out that I do, in fact, fully support the capitalist system. These guys are evil just ‘cos they’re evil. They’d make equally evil Marxists as they do evil Capitalists.
(Historical Note: I think I wanted “Must… Take… Life…” to be a catchphrase for Layla at one point. I should bring that back a little bit.)
Clearly, what she should have done was to threaten them all with horrible gruesome REVENGE if they got rid of her now. That would totally have proven her evilness. You always think of the right thing to say once it’s too late….
Also: “Enron”? Nobody remembers that scandal any more! There’s people reading this now that weren’t even born then 🙂
I know, right? Between this and the old Conventional Wisdom comics, I’m in a constant state of “oh yeah, that was a thing” over all these decade-old references.
