The Nitpickers Guild Christmas Party 2020 – page 4
I’ll just go ahead and ruin Christmas for a few longtime Far Out There readers and be honest that this is the only appearance Bridget, Alphonse, & Tabitha will be making in this set of comics. I know, I know, it’s disappointing, but better to let everybody down right away than string anybody along all month. Just remember, The Caligari Family starred in not just one, but TWO Christmas stories in the past. You can’t say they’re underrepresented.
(Historical Notes: Long-time readers might recognize the poster Tabitha got autographed from that series of Voting Incentives about Vashti’s past albums… which I of course can’t link to just yet. Dang it. Infuriatingly, I posted a compilation of just the artwork from several of those Incentives on tumblr… but that post left out the one cover that’s actually relevant to this comic. DANG IT.)
Kid, it’s your fault for betting on them. Your sister goes out of her way to have free time around Xmas, and your rampant gambling seems to have forced her to waste her time so to get you out of a hole you dug for yourself. You should be more grateful about how nice she is to you.
Honestly, I now dislike Vashti’s Brother more than Megaweapon, as Megaweapon at least is fully aware of the consequences of his actions. Sure, he does them to cause those consequences more often than not, but it’s still better than this brat who’s rejecting responsibility.
The real question is how in the Universe could he possibly lose so much money at a Casino that his debts can’t be covered out of pocket money by VASHTI, an intergalactic megaultrasuperstar whose yearly income is greater than the GDP of most planetary systems?! Sorry, bro, she just needs to let you work your issues out with the Mob. A few broken legs is a good “learning experience”. He’s never going to change if you keep tolerating him / defending him / bailing him out. (Are you paying attention here too, Jenna?)
At least let Bridget punch him a couple times.
Well, you know how it is with celebrities, there’s being “rich” and then there’s actually having money you can actually use. Vashti probably has so much of her massive income either tied up on weird deals with her various companies or preemptively dedicated to paying for new projects that there really might be stretches of time where she actually would have trouble covering unexpected expenses.
And yes, Lambert is absolutely from the Megaweapon school of Intentionally Unlikable Characters.
