page 1148 – just what this comic needs, more cast
(Historical Notes: The obvious thing to talk about in this page is even MORE obvious to talk about in the next page, so I’ll hold off for a bit. I DO recall there being some confusion over the art here, since I’d unintentionally made it look like May’s springing out of one of those bags. That’s not the intention… though I could hardly put it past May to do that. Anyway, I’m not the least bit embarrassed to say that, while I’d had Marshall’s FIRST name picked out for years before this point, I’m pretty sure his LAST name was made up the second before I typed it. I was probably listening to an Offhand Disney video or some other such thing and though “Meh, sure, he’s named after Bob Iger now. Whatever.” I think really hard about my creative decisions.)
Actually, if we make analogy’s to the “Hero” Kid’s Group, this page shows that Marshall is probably similar to Tarkus, while May is probably similar to Avi. If we want to round it out, Layla has some similarities to Lynne, and Trigger is similar to Hiro in that he’s easily pushed around and has one area of specialty that he focuses on (though Trigger is more knowledgeable and successful in his area of specialty).
As I recall, the suggestion (from misunderstanding the art) in the original comments was that May was possibly a ghost or spirit of some sort. I don’t remember if I was the one who thought that. But I was a little bit disappointed to find out she wasn’t. 😉
I’m fairly certain that I wasn’t the one who suggested that, though I do see where the suggestion was coming from, what with her ridiculous lean and everything like she’s popping out of Marshall’s bag’s.
