page 1100 – the clear and obvious conclusion
(Historical Notes: Avi’s another one of those characters who provides a chance to draw just about every possible facial expression, usually cranked up to eleven. He’s nowhere near as fun to write for as Layla, but he DOES rival her in terms of how fun he can be to draw. Seriously, I’m VERY pleased with the gradual transition from subtle and sad to exaggerated and comical seen here. And while I may have just said Avi’s not as much fun to write, I still think this page does a good job of capturing the weird way in which he manages to be utterly selfish while somehow still making it all about other people. He’s honestly one of the most complex characters in Far Out There at the moment, even if he IS really annoying.)
@ Comments: Avi’s also one of the character’s who gets us to see more “this is adorable” emotions out of Layla. She’s too used to Trigger, and Alphonse only does cute things to help his mommy, but Avi and his friends seem to his Layla’s “cute” emotions switch regularly.
It’s a matter of amplification in groups. One cute individual doing something cute in conjunction with additional cute individuals results in the net cuteness of the act increasing exponentially.
