Far Out There

(Historical Notes: Yep, another bit of blatant filler that was clearly inspired mainly by the fact that it would only involve drawing one panel.  I mean, yes, Past Me did take the opportunity to remind everybody about Avatar knowing basically everything, and that IS something that tends to get overlooked when she’s paired up with loudmouth dummies, but it’s also fairly obvious that Past Me tacked that on at the last minute.  There was probably an “insert funny line here” note on the rough draft that I didn’t make up a replacement for until an hour or so before the page went live.  Well, if I’m talking about stalling anyway, I might as well say a bit more about the whole “stalling for over a year” thing.  We’ve already had two major, action-heavy plot arcs by this point: the Mad Scientist Convention and the Concert/Gun Black Market.  In both cases, I got REALLY exhausted by the end of the arcs, and the prospect of inviting something even bigger and MORE exhausting upon myself was really intimidating.  Of course, what Past Me refused to accept was the fact that, even if I did push that arc back, I’d STILL be exhausted while working whatever I replaced it with.  The more I dragged things out, the worse the exhaustion got, and the more I needed the brake I finally got over the hiatus.  Next time this happens, I really need to be more willing to just say “Okay, I need a break” and go on sabbatical as soon as it feel like I need it.  It really goes against my nature to stop doing something I’ve started, but the longer I wait to do it, the longer I’ll probably take for me to get back in working order again.)
