Far Out There

So, confession: this is one of those times where I threw out the original idea for the page and started a new, drastically different version WAAAAAAAAAY too late. I stand by the decision to throw out the original draft of the page (which looked too much like the previous couple of pages all over again) but the “intimidating, dramatic background falling apart upon Layla’s return” concept needed a LOT more time to properly execute than I allowed myself. Looking at it now, it should be the actual PANELS cracking and shattering, not just the background colors. The bottom panel looks less like busted glass and more like the scales of some big red & white lizard.

Today’s Voting Incentive, though? That turned out pretty much exactly as I’d intended. Maybe I should start posting THOSE publicly and make the “real” comics the bonus incentives for a while…

(Historical Notes: …and as soon as I rant about not having the old comments anymore, here’s a page where we DO have them!  I just can’t win, can I?  The same as how I can’t fix my biggest complain about this page, the ugly background effects, without just re-doing the whole thing from scratch.  And I’m too close to the end to start getting bogged down in side-projects like that NOW.)
